When you’re staying overnight at the airport, the last thing you want to do is have to take transportation to and from the hotel. Being able to walk from the hotel to your terminal is ideal.

London Heathrow has a myriad of hotels surrounding it, from five star to no stars. There seems to be something available for any budget. Here’s an easy guide to the hotels actually connected to the terminals, making for a far easier journey.

Connected at Terminal 2

The Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 is officially connected to Terminal 2. Also known as the Queens Terminal, it is home to airlines such as Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, United, SAS, ANA, Swiss, Ethiopian and more.

Terminal 3 is mentioned in the hotel’s name as there is an underground walkway to Terminal 3, which is a little bit further away. Either way, if you arrive at either of these terminals, this hotel will be just a walk for you.

Inside Terminal 3

Even better are hotels that are inside the terminal itself, such as the new Aerotel at London Heathrow Terminal 3. This terminal has flights by Virgin Atlantic, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines, Finnair, Delta, and some British Airways flights among others.

Aerotel will rent rooms for shorter durations, which is handy for those who may have a layover that is hours long and just want to shower and have a short sleep. Rooms are small, but how much room do you really need on a layover?

Terminal 4 Has Plenty Of Options

There is a walkway off the departures hall at Terminal 4, and there are four hotels to choose from. The closest are the Crowne Plaza and the Holiday Inn Express which are about a five minute walk away.

A little further, but still less than 10 minutes walk are the quality budget hotel Premier Inn and the Hilton Terminal 4. Airlines at T4 include Qatar Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Aeroflot, Aeromexico, Oman Air, Air France, Alitalia, China Southern, Korean, China Eastern and more.

Walk From Terminal 5

British Airways and Iberia are co-located in Terminal 5 and around 10 minutes walk from the arrivals level is the Sofitel London Heathrow. You can read my review of this hotel right here.

While it is a five star hotel, you can find it for around €100 per night, as long as you know where to look. That’s a small price to pay for a little luxury on your layover, isn’t it?

One Important Thing To Note

All London Heathrow terminals can be easily reached by the underground train service. This means you can pick the hotel that suits your budget and know it is easy to get to.

Transportation between the terminals by rail is free. While you may have to walk from the train to the hotel, you won’t be out of pocket.

Overall Thoughts

When arriving tired after a long overnight flight, being able to walk from the terminal to the hotel is great. It is also very handy when you have an early morning departure or a lot of luggage.

Many times I have stayed at London Heathrow hotels which are a short bus ride from the terminal. While they are invariably fine, I far prefer being able to set my own time and walk when I want to.

Have you stayed at Heathrow before? Did you use one of the hotels on this list or another? Which would you prefer? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
