Nothing makes me happier than seeing a great deal for a business class airline ticket. Even better is when it is something that is actually useful to me, which usually results in a purchase.

On the flip side, airlines offering two for one sales generally makes me frown. It’s discriminatory to the solo traveller and when the fares are especially good, I could almost cry.

Airline Two For One Sales

Lufthansa and Swiss are currently offering some great two for one sales out of the United Kingdom. Perhaps the canny Germans and Swiss are trying to butter up the Brits before Brexit.

People originating in London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Manchester can take advantage of some seriously low fares. Fancy business class to Hong Kong? That’ll be £999 per person. I’d be all over that like a rash! Rio de Janeiro and Seoul are £1,250, Johannesburg is £1,499 and there are many more.

You can book these deals by going to the Lufthansa web site here. Be quick, as the deals are only on sale until Sunday 19 May 2019 for travel through to March 2020. A longer list of destinations is at Head For Points.

Of course, you must be two people travelling, which means I’m not included as I usually travel alone. I’m either going to have to get married (which is not really going to result in an overall saving once the wedding is included) or find myself a travel companion. That does sound a little too Jane Austen for me though!

Overall Thoughts

There’s a reason I don’t usually write about airline two for one sales, and that’s because I can’t take advantage of them personally. That being said, I think it is a great thing to do to get people on board, especially when the price is right.

I should quit my bitching though as things could be worse. Airlines could charge a single supplement like cruise lines do when you occupy a double cabin as a solo traveller, or it could be like hotels where the room rate is the same whether you’re one or two people.
