Planning your 2014/2015 season ski trip?

Well, besides hoping for great snow this year, you might want to refer to the just-published Ski Magazine Resort Guide 2015 for inspiration or just to see where your favorite resort is ranked.

The site has photo galleries for both the top 30 resorts in western North America and the top 20 in the East. (Fun fact: I was a Ski Magazine intern many moons ago!)

Ski ranks the resorts using reader feedback about factors such as slope grooming, restaurants, variety.

A few highlights:

  • In the west, Jackson Hole, Wyo., won the No. 1 spot.
  • My family’s traditional spring break destination – Park City, Utah – fared decently with its three resorts finishing in the top 14 slots: Deer Valley (No. 2), Park City Mountain Resort (No. 7) and Canyons Resort (No. 14), notes the local Park Record. PCMR and Canyons, however, slipped in this year’s rankings, the Record notes.
  • In the east, Smuggler’s Notch in Vermont nabbed the No. 1 spot.

Skiers: Where do you think you’ll go skiing this season? Will you stick with the same place, or wait and see what the snow conditions are? Describe how you prioritize.
