1. MrsMJonTravel and I are flying to Boston tomorrow for a weekend wedding.  I’ve only been once, and I can’t wait to visit again.  I hope Earl blows by in time to NOT impact our flight.  Speaking of flights, my flight to Boston will be my first aboard a US Airways mainline jet in something like 3 years.  This ex-Chairman’s Preferred hopes they do good.  🙂
  2. I wonder how the cruisers aboard all the ships that have been rerouted due to Hurricane Earl are taking the itinerary changes?  Hopefully no one makes a scene.  If you read your cruise ticket contract carefully, you’ll see that about all the cruise lines have to do is let you board the ship on the first day, feed you, and let you off the ship on the last day.  I’ve yet to build up enough nerve to cruise during Hurricane season, but I think I’ll try it sometime.
  3. I remember when 50 seat regional jets first appeared on the scene.  All I heard was joy and happiness that the turboprops were going away.  What happened?  The airlines put the darn things on too many “non regional” routes.  Sitting in one of those things for 3 hours?  No thanks.  The economics of 50 seat jets no longer works with 80 dollar oil.  Did the economics ever really work?
