Ah, the gold card. The term gold card is thrown around quite a bit in movies and TV shows. You might think that a gold card would be the créme de la créme. This is not always the case. The most popular gold card, while a solid introductory premium card, doesn’t offer a great deal of benefits. However, there is one gold card that’s truly deserving of the title. That’s the Mastercard® Gold Card™ from Luxury Card™.

The Gold Card from Luxury Card is not the best card for the frugal spender or for those who avoid cards with higher than average annual fees. The Gold Card from Luxury Card comes with an annual fee of $995. While quite pricey, the Gold Card from Luxury Card is just that–a luxury card. Not only does the card come with a long list of premium benefits and perks but the Gold Card is one of just a few cards actually made with real 24K gold and weighs an impressive 22 grams.

Though the annual fee is on the high side, the Gold Card is the perfect premium credit card for those looking for an exclusive experience and a card loaded with unique perks and benefits. But heads up, there isn’t a sign-up bonus. Still, without a sign-up bonus, the card offers tremendous earning potential year after year. This card is designed for long-term use and card holders will get the most value out of the card with continued use.

The Gold Luxury Card is perfect for those who enjoy the finer things in life.

Enjoy the finer things in life? The Gold Card from Luxury Card is the perfect credit card for a life of luxury.

Earning Points with The Gold Card from Luxury Card

Earning points with your Gold Card is quite straightforward. As is the case with many premium rewards credit cards, you’ll earn 1 (one) point for every $1 (one dollar) spent. While this might not seem phenomenal, the Gold Card from Luxury Card comes with impressive earning and redemptions potential.

For cardholders that aren’t all that interested in special earning categories and earning rates that alternate quarterly, the Gold Card’s straightforward and consistent earning rates might actually be a plus.

For example, if you were to spend $1,000 a month, you would earn 12,000 points in a calendar year. You can then use those points for travel or cash back. If you’re interested to see how many points you’d earn with the Gold Card, you can use Luxury Card rewards calculator.

Redeeming Points with The Gold Card from Luxury Card

One of the best features of the Gold Card from Luxury Card is the ability to use your points for either travel or cash back. No matter how you earn points with the Gold Card from Luxury Card, those points can be redeemed for travel via the Luxury Card travel portal or cash back in the form of a statement credit or direct deposit.

Redemption rates are a step-up compared to other premium travel credit cards. Here’s how much value you can potentially get out of the points you earn with the Gold Card:

  • 2% for Cashback Redemptions
  • 2% for Airfare Redemptions

That’s actually quite impressive compared to other cards. For example, other premium cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Platinum Card feature airfare redemption rates of just 1.5% and 1%, respectively. The Gold Card features significantly better value when redeeming points for airfare compared to other cards.

Additionally, the Gold Card from Luxury Card also features the most competitive cashback redemption rates of any premium card. The Gold Card features a cash back redemption rate of 2% while the Chase Sapphire Reserve and Platinum Card feature cashback redemption rates of just 1% and 0.6%, respectively.

If you’re looking to get the most value out of the Gold Card from Luxury Card, treating the card as a cashback card is typically the better choice. However, the card is still a solid option when redeeming for airfare.

You can book travel with the Luxury Card travel portal. Additionally, there are no blackout dates or seat restrictions when you use your points for airfare. You can redeem your points anytime and any amount. There’s no minimum required points to redeem and use your points. Plus, the points you earn with your card never expire.

The Benefits of The Gold Card from Luxury Card

With a steep annual fee, the Gold Card from Luxury Card does come loaded with premium perks and benefits. Again, it’s worth noting that this is a luxury card so the benefits are tailored to cardholders who enjoy the finer things in life. That’s not to say that frugal cardholders won’t get a lot of value out of the Gold Card.

My favorite benefits of the Gold Card from Luxury Card are the $200 annual airline statement credits, TSA PreCheck and Global Entry application statement credit, and the 24/7 Luxury Card Concierge service. The VIP concierge service is likely the benefit that will be overlooked the most. The concierge benefit will allow you to get the most benefit from the Gold Card.

Here are the top benefits of the Gold Card from Luxury Card:

$200 Annually in Airline Statement Credits

This is the perfect benefit for frequent flyers. Whenever you use your Gold Card for airline incidentals like checked bags, preferred seat assignments, in-flight purchases, or upgrades, you’ll automatically receive a statement credit. The $200 airfare statement credit can also be applied to airfare, something similar cards do not offer. Each year, you’ll receive up to $200 in statement credits towards incidentals with airlines.

TSA PreCheck and Global Entry Application Fee Statement Credit

The Gold Card from Luxury Card offers cardholders up to $100 towards the application fee associated with TSA PreCheck and Global Entry. With Global Entry, enjoy expedited arrival into the United States from international destinations. Global Entry members are eligible to participate in TSA Pre®, an expedited domestic security screening at participating airports in the United States.

Luxury Card members receive a one hundred dollar ($100) automatic statement credit for the cost of the Global Entry application fee.

I highly recommend that travelers with a passport apply for Global Entry. Global Entry comes bundles with TSA PreCheck. Plus, whenever you travel internationally, you’ll be able to use Global Entry upon arrival in the United States.

Airport Lounge Access with Priority Pass Select

There’s no better way to pass time during a layover than at an airport lounge. The Gold Card from Luxury Card comes with Priority Pass Select, the highest-tier offered by Priority Pass. Priority Pass Select allows cardholders to access over 1200 lounges at airports across the globe. While other cards feature this benefit, it’s important to note that unlike cards issued by American Express, this card will continue to allow cardholders to access restaurants and retailers that partner with Priority Pass.

Additionally, the Gold Card’s Priority Pass Select benefit allows cardholders to bring an unlimited number of guests into lounges and clubs. That’s right an unlimited number of guests. Luxury Card is the only card-issuer that offers an unlimited guest policy.

As for my favorite Priority Pass lounges, I highly recommend that travelers check out the VIP Lounge at Punta Cana International Airport. The VIP Lounge at Punta Cana Airport features an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the ramp and one of the airport’s runways. I’m also a big fan of the Plaza Premium Lounges found at London-Heathrow Airport and the Minute Suites which are found at select airports throughout the US.

Luxury Card Travel

The Gold Card is hardly just a travel card, still, it’s one of the top travel cards in the industry. Each year, Luxury Card issues a massive book—Luxury Card Hotel & Travel—for cardholders to put that 2% airfare and $200 travel credit to good use.

The Luxury Card Hotel & Travel book features over 400 pages dedicated to the Luxury Card Travel program. The Luxury Card Travel program offers 3,000 properties in over 1,000 destinations around the world. At these properties, cardholders receive an average value of $500 per stay.

For example, let’s say you’ve booked a stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel using the Luxury Card Travel program. Here’s a list of benefits, perks, and savings you’ll receive during your stay:

  • Room Upgrade Upon Arrival (when available)
  • Dine at the hotel’s 1888 Chop House and enjoy a private tour of its wine cellar
  • Free Breakfast for two at $35 a day per person
  • $100 spa credit per stay
  • Discounts at the hotel’s golf course

That’s just one example of how to take advantage of the amazing Luxury Card Travel program.
