I just completed a one-night business stay at the beautiful Hotel Minneapolis (a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel) at 215 4th St S in Minneapolis. This was obviously a short stay, and as a result, I was not able to experience many of the amenities the hotel has to offer. Nor was I successful in exploring many restaurants. I did enjoy a very comfortable night’s sleep in a nice room with big king bed, reasonably fast internet, and large bath area. The hotel was perfect for a short business trip, and I would not hesitate to stay again for the same or longer trip.
I arrived around 5pm and left the rental car with the valet ($30 dollars per night). Once inside, I was immediately assisted by friendly front desk staff who recognized my Marriott Rewards Gold Elite status, invited me to the concierge lounge on the 10th floor, and processed my check in to my 7th floor king guest room, # 726, to the right as you exit the elevator vestibule.
The room was large enough, comfortable, and equipped with a well-lit work area that would meet the needs of most any business traveler. I snapped a few photos.
Power outlets!!! And there were more!
My stay was so short that there was little time for exploring all the various things to do in downtown Minneapolis. My past experience has been that this downtown is as clean as they come, with many nice restaurants, bars, and other activities to occupy your time. Multiple people recommended Manny’s Steak House to me for dinner, but I just wasn’t feeling like it for this short visit. The lobby bar/restaurant, Restaurant Max, was pretty nice and offered happy hour specials that worth considering. In the end, I fell for my old standby, Ruth’s Chris, just a few blocks from the hotel, and better yet, accessible via the sky bridge system that enabled me to walk to and from without getting cold. 🙂
All in all, I liked the hotel, a lot. Friendly staff, good location. I will likely be back during my next visit to Minneapolis.
