Once again I find myself flying with Europe’s largest airline, Irish based Ryanair. With their rules and regulations, you would have to be living under a rock not to know what to do.
Before my flight, I received no less than three e-mails from them. One to tell me my flight was coming up, and then a little barrage of communications as the date closed in.
Ryanair’s Baggage Story
Passengers wishing to take a standard sized cabin bag on board must purchase Priority Boarding. This comes with the guarantee your cabin bag will be with you on the flight and you can also bring a second, smaller bag with you.
Being an old hand at this, I purchased Priority Boarding during the booking process. The e-mails are excellent as there are more than one, and they tell you exactly what to do. Pleading ignorance is virtually impossible!
How About One To Your Mobile?
Would you like fries with that? McDonald’s are the master of the upsell when you’re at the counter and looking for a cheap, quick fix. Ryanair are also extremely good at this, as you can see from this mobile message.
I’m a big believer in Fast-Track security, as in Dublin at least, you breeze through in seconds and not more than a couple of minutes. Ryanair sell this as an add on, though on this occasion, I declined. Cross fingers there are no delays!
By the time I had my third e-mail, I was amused at the amount of communications I was getting. Once I received the Fast-Track upsell text, I knew I had to tell the story about it here.
Though I vowed I would never again purchase food on board, I have noticed from the menu that the burrito is gone. Since every company deserves a second chance, I’ll be buying something to eat and you’ll see the review sometime next week.
