Royal Caribbean has introduced an Android version of its Royal iQ app. Previously, it was only available to iOS users. Currently usable only aboard Quantum of the Seas, future cruisers on the upcoming Anthem of the Seas, and Ovation of the Seas will want this app. It can be used to reserve dinner times on ships with Dynamic Dining, book shore excursions, and reserve evening entertainment. Opinions varied on the utility of the app during our 12/1 Quantum of the Seas cruise. I did experience some downtime with it, but overall, it functioned for what I needed it to do like make dinner reservations….

There’s a handy messaging function that was free during our cruise because it was still a work in progress. It worked about 80 percent of the time for me, and I did appreciate the concept. The plan is to charge $14.95 per cruise to use it, and I’d probably pay it knowing it was fully functional.
