Hong Kong International Airport is home to seven distinct Cathay Pacific lounges, including two First Class lounges. The Wing, Business class lounge is a premium lounge, located in Terminal 1 near gates 1-4. The lounge boasts an eclectic mix of white marble structuring and traditional features. It features the iconic Long Bar, a Noodle Bar, an elegant Coffee Loft, shower rooms and relaxation area. This is my review of the The Wing, Cathay Pacific Business Class Lounge;

The Wing – Cathay Pacific Business Class Lounge

My visit to The Wing was a quick one, since I had already spent a couple of hours at Cathay Pacific’s The Pier Business Class Lounge (Review) before heading to Mumbai on Cathay Pacific Business Class A330-300 (review). In terms of proximity, The Wing could not have been more convenient since it was located right across from my departure gate (2). But I do prefer The Pier over The Wing.

The entrance and the check-in area to the lounge is welcoming with all white marble desk. The staff was polite and attentive, a quick scan of the boarding pass and I was in the lounge. Once in, I walked up a set of stairs to the main lounge area. A single elevator was also available for use on the main floor.

The lounge was busy but also offered several seating styles – single couches, semi-private cubicles, bar style seating etc.

The iconic Long Bar that The Wing lounge is known for, was located to the right as I walked in. The bar is ‘seriously Long’ with an elegant white marble setup and great views of the tarmac. The finger food section located by the bar was a good complement to the extensive list of drinks on offer.

The food and beverage section in the main lounge was impressive as well, with both hot and cold food selections and ofcourse – Dim Sum!

Past the main lounge, to the right was the Coffee Loft – a quite corner with finger food and a barista whipping up several concoctions of the bean variety.

My favorite spot in the lounge though, was The Noodle Bar, which included wooden furnishings with lush green bamboo setup in the middle. The noodle bar was located towards the end of the lounge and offered several shared spaces for communal dining experience.

TAKE AWAY

My flight to Mumbai was scheduled to depart from Gate 2, right across from the lounge. The Wing, Cathay Pacific Business Lounge is a modern lounge with traditional accents – ambiance, decor, staff and food were excellent and I would definitely choose to spend more time on my next trip. If you have enough time on hand and had to pick between one of the five business lounges in Hong Kong International airport, The Wing is a luxurious choice.

only disappointing this is it closes at 12:30am. We had a flight departing for Singapore at 1:45am from Gate 2 and we had to schlep it to the Deck lounge

Good Point! The Deck, near Gate 16 is the only option past 00:30, unfortunately. How was it?
