Background:

The Korean Airlines Lounge LAX is located on the fifth floor of the Tom Bradley International Terminal after security. Passing the oneworld Business Class lounge, the KAL Lounge is down the hallway across from the Qantas First Lounge.

Korean Airlines Lounge

I used my Priority Pass card for access. With my AMEX Hilton Aspire, I get lounge access for myself and two guests. For Priority Pass members, the hours are a bit limited, from 1:00 pm and to 7:00 pm Note: you just have to enter by then, I entered at 6:30 pm and stayed til 8 pm on one visit. I’ve visited the lounge a couple times during my recent travels, and it’s a nice option to have.

One time I tried to enter the lounge right at 1pm and the line outside was a bit long, and it took about 20 minutes to get in. Otherwise, I normally didn’t have any trouble waiting in line to get into the lounge.

The Lounge:

The lounge is quite large, with ample seating. I’ve been to the lounge when it was really crowded, and also when it’s really empty. Regardless, I always found a place to sit and I enjoy the balcony seating overlooking the terminal atrium the best. 

There was a lot of finger food which was nice. The lounge offers sushi, fried rice and chicken wings during the lunch and dinner hours. They also have some vegetable platters and instant ramens which can come in handy for a quick snack. Additionally, there’s a small self serve bar area with a limited selection of alcohol.

 

There are shower rooms and I never utlized them, but the lounge restrooms are nice and spacious.

For a Priority Pass option, I can’t really complain. But I guess if I was a business class passenger on Korean Airlines, I’d feel a bit letdown.

The Verdict:

If you can make it work to enter the lounge between 1pm and 7 pm and the lounge isn’t restricting access, the Korean Airlines lounge is a decent option for a domestic Priority Pass lounge with an assortment of finger food options, clean bathrooms and plenty of seating.
