Background:

My Delta flight from Los Angeles was slated to arrive at 10pm, and I wanted to just head to bed after the flight. So, I booked the Hyatt Regency DFW as it was conveniently inside DFW (you still have to take a short shuttle though). And since it’s a Category 2, at 8,000 World of Hyatt Points it’s a great redemption when rates are high. For my night, the cash rate was $200 so I thought it was a good use of points.

Shuttle:

Even thought the Hyatt Regency DFW is located at Terminal C, you still need to take a shuttle which has to be requested. Just call the front desk when you land and the shuttle will be there. Ours arrived quickly in 5 minutes and I was too busy on my phone to notice until the driver called my cell. Oops 🙂

If you somehow land at Terminal C, you could walk through a parking structure to get to the hotel but reports online says it’s a lot of stairs and it’s not easy with luggage.

The sister hotel, Grand Hyatt DFW is located inside Terminal D and connected to the airport terminal itself. I’d like to try the Grand Hyatt one day as it’s consistently ranked one of the best airport hotels in the US. These are the only two hotels actually located next to the DFW terminals, the rest are on the edges of the airport.

Check In:

I checked in with mobile, and was assigned my room on the 12th floor already. I just quickly headed to the front desk to pick up the keys.

The Room:

The room was quite spacious and had a new huge TV. It has been recently refreshed, and features a balcony. I could see some American Airlines planes and terminal C from my room.

The beds were comfortable and soundproofing was really solid! I got a good nights sleep.

The bathroom had the sink separate from the toilet and shower which was nice for multiple getting ready at the same time. What was odd to me is that the towel shelf was right on top of the toilet. They really couldn’t put it somewhere else like across or against the wall? There’s plenty of space haha.

A fridge was also provided in the room, as well as a coffee/tea maker.

Amenities:

As I was just here to sleep for the night I didn’t check out anything. There’s a fitness center and heated outdoor pool. The bar was kind of popping when I checked in at 11pm so that was cool if you wanted to grab a drink. The coffee bar was sufficient for a quick breakfast before heading out!

The Verdict: Hyatt Regency DFW

Normally, I have pretty low expectations for airport hotels because of subpar experiences in the past but I’m glad the Hyatt Regency DFW went above expectations! One of the nicer airport hotels I’ve stayed in, and if my travels bring my back to DFW, I’ll most certainly consider staying here again!
