Another week has gone by and its time for me to summarize this week’s posts for those who have missed out. Links are provided to each one for curiosity.
Last week featured three different posts: a news piece, a follow up to my inventory post, and a Card War. While there were only three posts, they differ quite a bit.
Without further ado, here’s the weekly review:
News: Hyatt And American Airlines Forge Partnership
Hyatt and American Airlines have come together to offer reciprocal benefits for each other’s members. Hyatt Explorists and Globalists can now earn American Airlines miles for staying at Hyatt hotels. Conversely, American Airlines Gold members (and higher) can earn Hyatt points for flying on American Airlines.
This partnership also extends to status matching. Hyatt Explorists and Globalists have the chance to be upgraded on American Airlines. And American Airlines Platinum members (and higher) can earn Hyatt status.
Why I Upgraded To The Chase Sapphire Reserve
Real life examples are some of the best ways to learn about anything. This is another reason why I recently posted my inventory post. It’s also why I wrote this follow-up about my recent upgrade to the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
Until recently, I had the Chase Sapphire Preferred and I loved it as my main Chase card. But I analyzed my bonus category expenditures from my first year and found my own break-even point. I compared the numbers and found that the former was greater than the latter. Therefore, upgrading to the Reserve was the right decision on paper.
Additionally, the Reserve has enhanced travel insurances and more benefits that the Sapphire Preferred does not have. While some of these perks overlap with my Business Platinum Card, they can still be used as they help me justify the Reserve’s higher annual fee. Upgrading was still the right choice.
Card Wars: Chase Ink Business Cards
Chase offers some of the best business credit cards in the points and miles world. This post compares the three currently offered and determines which one (or more) is best for your business or side gig.
I hope that everyone has a great Sunday! Stay posted for more content next week!
