LET’S RUN!
I’ve been keeping an eye out for this run and now I’m all registered. Thanks to Michael W. Travels (@MichaelWTravels) for posting about registration opening up (and the $5 off code RUNWAYrun2012)!  (Unfortunately, it is the same weekend as FTU in Tampa Bay, FL.)

Sponsored by Chicago Department of Aviation, United Airlines, WLS Radio, with proceeds benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project serving military vets, it’s a one-of-a kind opportunity to experience a day on a runway at one of the world’s busiest airports. It’s a fun event for the entire family that also includes a post-run/walk Community Day with entertainment, food and photo opportunities on the runway, and in front of a United airplane.WWP

Runners can purchase premier parking in lots directly adjacent to the event site for $7 (or park free in Lot G with 10 min shuttle service drive departing every 20 mins…. hint hint, buy the $7 parking).

POST-RACE
Prizes – Male and Female Winners of 5K and 10K will each receive two domestic economy class round-trip United Airlines tickets!
Photos on the Runway – After the race, take a trolley ride onto the runway for a photo opportunity with a United Airlines airplane. Trolleys will be running from 10am-12:30pm.
Community Day (free to public) – The celebration continues after the race at the United Airlines Cargo Facility with activities for the whole family! Bounce houses, activities from local Chicago institutions, food & beverages (from some of the great O’Hare Airport restaurants!) and much more will take place from 8am to 12:30pm.
