You’re doggone right I am! What the heck am I talking about? American Airlines announced a new partnership with Cadillac today. First, American has launched a transfer service for its very high value customers at LAX that includes plane to plane transfers on the ramp using Cadillac automobiles. This service will expand to DFW, LGA and JFK soon. The premium transfer service follows similar efforts by American’s primary domestic competitors Delta and United. I think it’s a good move, and it’s nice to see AA catching up on this. (Image courtesy of American Airlines)
Notably, later this month AAdvantage members can earn 7,500 miles for test driving a new Cadillac. According to American’s press release, “customers can earn AAdvantage miles in exchange for test driving a new Cadillac. Members can earn 7,500 AAdvantage miles when they call a service desk and register a time to test drive a Cadillac at a nearby dealership. More information on this promotion will be available soon.”
Ironically, not too long ago I received a Cadillac CTS as a rental car upgrade on a trip to North Carolina. The temptation to fist pump as I traveled down I-40 was strong, but I persevered. In fact, I quite enjoyed the car. I’m not sure if that’s a sign that I’m getting old or that Cadillac builds great cars that are fun to drive? No matter what, I’m looking forward to test driving a new Cadillac soon.
