British Airways are going to introduce new World Traveller Plus catering and the first images are now online. For those that don’t know, World Traveller Plus is the international premium economy class at BA.

Considering the price differential over World Traveller, it is good to see some investment here. I’ve always found meals on British Airways to be great quality, so any improvement just adds to the experience.

New World Traveller Plus Catering

A lot of people in this class are those treating themselves to a little more, or are grey nomads used to the comforts of business class but who are now travelling at their own expense. First and foremost, World Traveller Plus customers will be getting a new style menu

The main dish has historically comprised of two of the four selections offered in Club World. With the the rest of the tray being exactly the same as those in the cheap seats, it looked a little incongruous together.

You can see above that the dessert and starter are now elegantly plated. This is in stark contrast to now, where they are in plastic pots so I think this is a great improvement.

Second service usually occurs before landing and at present this is exactly the same as economy class. This is also now being improved with a much higher quality offering. It looks good!

Overall Thoughts

The new World Traveller Plus catering looks like a definite improvement. British Airways have somewhat lagged behind other airlines in this cabin when it comes to the on board dining for quite some time, so this will address the gap.

Presentation is everything when attempting to give a quality experience. For comparison, you can check out what the current World Traveller Plus catering looks like here.
