When you have to rely on baby formula to provide the nutritionally complete diet for your little one, you realize how quickly the cost can add up, especially when breastfeeding is not an option. When you have twin mouths to feed, extra savings are twice as important!

Coupons and savings promotions for diapers and wipes are far more commonplace in stores and online to give you decent savings. Another popular alternative that I suggest for price AND convenience is Amazon’s Subscribe and Save combined with Amazon Mom for very good saving on many stock items.
Baby formula, on the other hand, seems to demand some more work to find any significant savings. In fact, one of the few in-store savings I’ve seen on formula was a “Buy 3, Get 50% Off 4th”… Oh! Thanks!
So what to do when formula is never on sale? Find discounts that exclude sale items!
One of my favorites is CVS and its constant doling out of 20% coupons that involve no printing, clipping and potential losing. Sign up as an ExtraCare member. You’ll start receiving “20% Off Coupon” emails with a link to “Get Coupon” which takes you to the CVS website with an option to print the one-time use coupon or send it to your ExrtaCare member card.
My preference is to send the coupon to my “card” which for me is my CardStar app that holds 22 of my loyalty shopping cards, my library card, etc. Once I get the 20% coupon, it’s time to purchase (bulk at times) those items that seem to never or rarely go on sale, such as baby formula! So, on a $15 canister of formula I just found the equivalent of a $3 coupon for EACH!
I pull up my CVS ExtraCare card bar code on the app for the clerk to scan at the start of my transaction. Just be sure to ask the checkout clerk something along the lines of, “I think I have a 20% coupon on my account to apply?” Also, these savings opportunities have a quick expiration of only a week or two, so act fast!
Try the Send To Card option to save paper and avoid misplacing that coupon worth $$$

Great point, Scott. For whatever reason I have yet to receive anything from them for months after signing up. Drat!
