A joyous day here in northwest DC. Why, you ask? Because my AAdvantage Million Miler card and bag tags arrived! I know, it really doesn’t take much to make me happy. Nothing special, just a standard AAdvantage elite packet, with a missive from Dan Garton about hitting the million mile mark. Lifetime Gold comes with hitting 1 million AAdvantage miles, but since I’m already Platinum, my packet contains the Platinum card and bag tags. I noted a slight design change in elite cards and bag tags which I assume applies to all elite cards, not just the million miler variety. Here’s a picture for your viewing pleasure. Sorry about the big blot out of my AAdvantage number.
If you ne’er got any of this what do you do
Can you explain a little better the lifetime Gold for hitting the million mile mark? I have heard that this means one million miles from any source in your AAdvantage account. Is this true? We do not fly too terribly much, a few times a year, but I will hit the million mark in my account and my wife’s account within about three years just from credit card miles. Also, do miles that you purchase count towards the million? Any information would be appreciated.
Thank you very much
Hi Brant, and thanks for commenting. As of right now, miles from ANY source (including purchased miles) count towards the million mile goal with AAdvantage. Keep in mind that this is an unpublished benefit that could change at any time. And there is lots of anecdotal evidence on the various information boards (flyertalk, travelingbetter) that change is imminent. However, no one really knows for sure. Just keep charging and earning.
