I love seeing how excited kids are when they are given the gift of a Disney trip.
Out of the many “Disney surprise” videos, I especially like this one because of the contrasting reactions between the two sisters. I adore Lily’s love for Disney, and I find Chloe’s expressions endearing. Chloe appeared concerned for her older sister, but she also doesn’t seemed to get what the big fuss is all about or why her sister is reacting that way.
(Lily’s reaction at 1:55 is classic, and Chloe’s reaction at 2:03 makes me laugh)
Why I love Disney
For me, it was always about the storytelling.
Stories of wonders.
Stories of adventures.
The notions of possibilities.
A classic example of a great storytelling is Disney’s The Lion King. I still remembered I was holding back tears and trying not to bawl during a dramatic scene in the movie. The theater was suddenly punctuated by a lot of sniffling. Lest we forget, it was only an animated movie.
What was your most memorable moment at Disney?
My first visit to a Disney park came as an adult, when I was in my early 20s. Everyone in the family, except my Dad, made the trip. After a fun-filled day at Magic Kingdom, we waited for the fireworks. As I was taking in the beautiful clear night with a gentle breeze, spectacular fireworks lit up the sky over our heads.
I’ve seen fireworks before, but this one felt different.
With an illuminated Disney castle in the backdrop and familiar Disney music softly playing in the background, I looked over at my family who were all gazing up at the firework show — and I couldn’t be more enveloped by love and contentment.
Life is a funny thing. We never really know how much time we have on this earth. I remembered thinking, “Whatever the future holds, I am just so thankful for my family who are right here beside me to share in this moment”. I looked around me, wanting to commit everything I was feeling and seeing to memory. And to this day, I still remember how I felt at that moment.
Inspiration and imagination know no bounds. Because Disney is all about them, it still holds a magic in my heart.
That was one of the most memorable moments on my first trip to Disney. What about you? What is your most memorable at Disney? Do you have upcoming plans to visit, and/or do you plan to surprise your kids or loved ones?
