I won’t say much, I can’t. But I will say this…I’m not surprised. As much as I’m not totally convinced Doug P. and crew are in touch with what it means to build relationships with customers and the importance of those relationships, I’ve never doubted their financial acumen and savvy. Here’s a little food for thought. I’m no lawyer, but I bet if you set this deal up as US Airways buying United there’s technically no change in control which would trigger a clause in the US Airways pilot contract that snaps wages back to the inflated (in management’s opinion) levels of the past. Things that make you go hmmmm.
