Founded in 2010, HotelTonight is a hotel booking app created specifically for mobile users. Unlike similar 3rd party hotel booking sites the app focuses on bookings for the next 7 days, for travelers needing last minute accommodations. It offers competitive pricing, and can be a helpful, easy tool for business (and leisure) travelers with sudden schedule changes.
The main drawback has been that you cannot earn points in the hotel chain’s loyalty program. Stays don’t count towards elite re-qualification, and you don’t receive the elite status perks that accompany bookings made directly through a hotel’s website.
To sweeten the deal for customers, HotelTonight is launching their own loyalty program, called HT Perks.
A simple program with solid benefits, HT Perks looks to be a great addition to HotelTonight.
There are three levels of the HT Perks loyalty program.
Spend $100 (equivalent to about one night’s stay), get 8-12% off future bookings.
Spend $750, get an extra 5% off Level 1 rates
Exclusive offers and surprises to inspire more adventures
Spend $5,000, and get an additional 5% off Level 2 rates (10% off Level 1 rates, and around 20% off rates that new users see).
Dedicated VIP support phone line
With up to 20% off their already reasonable rates, this new loyalty program has excellent potential. As a hard-earned reward for loyal HotelTonight customers with total spend over $5000, we could see substantial savings especially at high-end luxury properties.
Also attractive is the fact that all previous spend counts towards the new tiers/levels, and status never expires. So if you have already used HotelTonight you will find yourself boosted to the right level according to your prior purchases. Plus, even if you have a year or so of non activity your level won’t ever drop back down.
If you don’t already have an account, you can get a $25 credit for your first stay by using promo code MAGICOFMILES when you sign up.
Note that to receive the $25 off, the reservation has to be $135 or above (excluding taxes & fees), and in the interest of full disclosure, I’ll also get $25 of a future booking.
