I was at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto just a short stay, but I was given a Deluxe room with a great view of downtown through the floor to ceiling windows.

The hotel is just a five minute walk from the CN Tower and downtown, and offers an oasis of calm in the middle of a bustling city.

As a Platinum guest, when I first entered the room I saw a tray of welcome goodies. From a sugary jelly to a caramel, each one was different.

There was even a chocolate in the shape of a castle.

The bed had Frette linens, and had little reading lights on either side. There was a leather padded headboard, and a bench at the foot of the bed.

There was a generic coffeemaker (that didn’t work very well), and accompaniments.

The minibar was cold, and had sodas, beer, juice, and water.

In addition there was liquor and a bottle of wine next to an ice bucket.

The bathroom had double sinks, and there was a shelf underneath for towel storage.

The Portuguese marble stone flooring was heated.

Amenities were by Asprey.

There was a painting over the tub that reminded me of a school of fish in the ocean.

The tub was extra deep for soaking.

The bathroom was quite spacious, and spotless. There was also an embedded TV in the mirror.

The desk in the bedroom had a swivel chair good for gazing out the window. The in-room internet was painfully slow, so it made working in the room difficult. Thank goodness there was lovely view for when I was waiting.

The room was quiet, and I slept well. There was a Bose Wave clock radio bedside, which was great for charging iPods.

The hotel has the only Clarins Spa outside of Paris, which I would have wanted to have tried. This was a gorgeous property, and the room was modern and clean. Not having fast, reliable internet was a problem though, so that plus the room service issues would be a big consideration before staying here again.
