Highlights: Planet Hollywood Las Vegas
This was a decent experience, and actually two separations – originally I had booked five nights here, fully comped, but found availability at Cromwell Las Vegas. So I did one night here, two nights Cromwell, and then another two nights here. We had some room issues on the second stay, and of course the internet limitations, but overall adequate. Because it was free – comped room, comped resort fee (thanks to Diamond card through status matching) I can’t complain *too* much.
LOBBY & CHECK-IN
Note, the lobby is underground, so take an escalator from the casino floor down. There is a diamond check-in lounge to the right of the main check-in area. Sadly, we were not given any upgrades, but had decent views both times. Also, service here is pretty nice as well.

ROOM
As I found out with Total Rewards properties, internet (which is slow) is limited to just two devices per room. My resort fees were waived through the Diamond status I got through a status match from Hilton to Wyndham to Caesars, so that was nice. On my second stay we had a major issue with one of the vents in the bathroom, which seemed to pump in cigarette smoke from somewhere else in the hotel. While I was in a nonsmoking room on a nonsmoking floor, this was very frustrating.
I let them know and they had someone come up to spray a couple times, but that wasn’t a great long-term solution. Upon check out I expressed these concerns to the manager at the Diamond lounge, who gave me $50 F&B credit for my next stay. Next time I will be sure to bring up my issues earlier and hopefully switch rooms.

HOTEL SPACE / AMBIANCE
We avoided the casino floor as much as possible, but it was lively. Take a Break timeshare people were stationed in the middle of the floor as well as the entrance of the Miracle Mile Shops where we walked around and enjoyed some complimentary offers. If you have your room key, you can get a coupon book at any of the customer service areas, which can get you some small freebies or decent discounts at some of the food and retail establishments. Also, I’m partial to Earl of Sandwich, for its value and taste.
FOOD & DRINK
We enjoyed Pin-Up pizza here a couple times. Originally it’s supposed to be a snack, but it filled us up without any problem.

Unfortunately, this was closed when I went – late in the evening, but is located on the conference center floor one step up from the casino.
MISCELLANEOUS
Lastly, we did not gamble here, as we didn’t see any of our usual suspects. Overall, it was a decent comped room, so that was three of the eleven waived resort fees – without having to ask! We also got an additional $50 for next time for the room issues we experienced. Its central location next to major value centers (Cosmopolitan, Aria, etc.) were the major draws. Note, we ate at a bunch of other places – SLS Las Vegas and Hexx at Paris Las Vegas, both of which have great food.

Just got match to Caesars Diamond. How were you guys able to status match to mlife?
Mlife we got from matching Hyatt, which we got from Wyndham or Hilton I believe. This was several years ago.
I just got matched to TR Diamond. Was wondering how else you used the benefits on this trip. I saw the buffet line pass in this post, also the dedicated check in. I thought lounge required actual play credits minimum to access even for Diamond. Look forward to reading about the rest of the trip.
Benefits – Cut lines everywhere. $100 Celebration Dinner used at Bacchanal. Checkin Diamond/VIP area to bypass lines. No Resort fees. If there was a separate diamond lounge that requires play I did not go there. Thanks for reading!
Waived resort fee is huge! Can cut the total payment in half for some stays. I plan to stay mainly at Caesars properties just for that reason alone in 2019. Too bad MGM casinos tend to have more AP slots, as you’ve experienced.
Yup – 5N at CET properties was comped. Only did such a long trip since those resort fees were automatically waived. Yes did see MGM had more AP slots, but CET had some too (there’s a bank in linq, and harrah’s, and also casino royale, which isn’t CET but close).
