HIGHLIGHTS: Conrad Tokyo, Japan

Our first hotel of the honeymoon! We stayed at the Conrad Tokyo on a Free Night Certificate on my Aspire, and had a fantastic time. Highlights include a beautiful upgraded room, and an amazing breakfast. It’s a bit out of the way and not close to much, but within walking distance to a metro line with which to explore Tokyo. I would highly recommend this experience, at least once. It was my first time at a Conrad (of three this honeymoon) and a blast.

My standard hotel reviews include a breakdown by the following topics. Feel free to skip to whichever section you find most interesting.

LOBBY & CHECK-IN

From Haneda we took a train line to the city, and then had to walk a good distance lugging our luggage, and the entrance is a bit obscured and disorienting, as you enter on the ground level and take a separate bank of elevators to the lobby. But we were immediately greeted with pleasant service, cold towels, and fresh juice, to make our welcome warm and pleasant. They were very kind and held our luggage as our upgraded room was not yet ready, but I’ll wait for a larger room any day.

ROOM

As I mentioned we had to wait a bit for the room to be ready, so we were came back in the evening. I was pleased with the large spacious room with an extra half bath. The nice sweets and hotel swan were touching as well. I especially enjoyed the large bathroom with his and hers sinks, as well as a tub – perfect for a soak! The rain shower and head were also a pleasant experience.

HOTEL SPACE / AMBIANCE

As mentioned there is a very large ground floor entrance directing you to the elevator bank sending you up to the lobby floor. There were plenty of fancy people about, with couples and tourists alike. A wide range of business people and travellers during breakfast as well.

FOOD & DRINK

We had the fantastic breakfast at the lobby restaurant, with a huge buffet spread and some fresh made-to-order omelettes. The tater tots were especially good and I enjoyed the wide variety as well as my ready-made french toast – light, fluffy, with a side of syrup.

FITNESS

The fitness center is down a long hallway, and is decently sized. It also has a beautiful view overlooking the hotel pool. I’m glad I got a chance to enjoy it before shipping out the next day.

MISCELLANEOUS

I would definitely stay at the Conrad Tokyo again – the great service, nice room, and delicious breakfast spread made for a great time. Additionally, we explored Akihabara, and I had a craving for a burger. I found Henry’s Burgers which was okay, supplemented by ramen and McDonald’s. On a United flight in watching videos on burgers just made me crave!
