HIGHLIGHTS: Conrad Hong Kong
The Conrad Hong Kong treated us to an oversized suite, with plenty of welcome and congratulatory snacks & champagne. I especially enjoyed the swath of offerings at breakfast, and the delicious fried tofu soup. It was a bit difficult to get to, and the redirect to exec lounge wasn’t ideal, but overall this was a fantastic stay for my Hilton Aspire / Ascend free night certificates. I would stay here again, hopefully when the unrest is better.

LOBBY & CHECK-IN
Due to the instability of th*e city during the time we visited, there were several MTA stations out of service, so we ended up walking from the ferry station to our hotel. It was a difficult ordeal, made even more difficult by lack of adequate signage to the Conrad Hong Kong in the mall. That was an unpleasant experience. No signs in the lobby directing us to the check-in desk, and an even more annoying experience to be walked to the executive lounge on the 59th floor to check-in. When I enter a hotel lobby, I want to check in there, not be directed and shuffled off to someone else. They did tell us about the lounge amenities and breakfast, and we were sure to use those later.
They upgraded us to a very large king suite with a separate living area. We enjoyed the welcome and congratulatory amenities, which included cakes, pastries, fruits, roses, tea, and champagne. It was a lot of offerings! I also enjoyed the cute rose petals, towel animals, and Conrad bears – which we certainly brought home with us! They brought us so much food we could not even finish – especially as we were planning to eat out on the town and explore.
HOTEL SPACE / AMBIANCE
We saw a lot of business people and couples in the executive lounge. It was not as busy as I would expect, but I would associate that with the current political situation and lower tourism numbers.
FOOD & DRINK
I especially enjoyed the breakfast at the restaurant, with its many dining options, and spread of western, Chinese, and Japanese breakfasts! I am a huge fan of fried tofu, and they had a delicious fried tofu soup – make your own – and I got it both days. The chinese donut was not fresh and was too crunchy, as if it was sitting out a while, but otherwise it was great.
We did check out the executive lounge – which had a splendid view, but I found the food options lacking. You’ll get more variety on breakfast down at the restaurant.
We explored the city so did not get a chance to visit the pool or the fitness center, but it looks amazing from the stock photos from the hotel website! I would certainly use the facilities in the future.
Visiting a Cantonese place allows me to use my very fundamental and rudimentary knowledge of speaking. Of course, we do spend a huge amount of time exploring and trying the desserts and sweets of the city as well – multiple milk teas and food from all around. I would certainly come back to the Conrad Hong Kong in the future.
