I needed a one night stay in Madrid before heading back to the states, and chose the Hilton Madrid Airport! They had a great rate of $150 USD a night for an Executive Room with Lounge Access!
The shuttle picked us up from the airport swiftly. We only waited about fifteen minutes. The shuttles run constantly, and the only one you reserve is the one back to the airport (at check in).
Major Plus: There’s a FREE shuttle TO THE CITY about 3 times a day. We were feeling like we wanted to see Madrid once more before heading home, and asked if there was still a shuttle left. Amazingly, they had one so we reserved the 6pm shuttle to the city and it dropped us off at Retiro Park. They did not have a return shuttle for a later time so we just took a cab back but it was great to have this option! It’s about 15km to city center, and the cab was less than 20 euros. I wouldn’t solely use this hotel as a base to explore the city though.
Check in was swift and the front desk was nice. We were on the 4th floor (executive level). The hotel features a large atrium with floating elevators.
The room was really nice for an airport hotel! New, modern furnishing and nice fixtures. Surprisingly, the bathroom had a separate tub, shower and toilet! I have never stayed at an airport hotel with a bathroom that had all these features. The beds were up to par with Hilton and most importantly the room was quiet both room to room and outdoor with the planes.
The Executive Lounge:
The executive lounge was nice, featuring snacks and sodas/drinks. At about 5ish they started bringing out tapas (Spanish finger food/small bites). It was a nice lounge to relax in. And with the executive room, you could eat breakfast at the main buffet downstairs (which we opted to do) or chose to stay at the lounge.
The front desk was very helpful and kind. To book the shuttle back to the airport or to the city, you just go to the front desk and they have a timetable and will reserve you a spot on the shuttle! I think the airport shuttles run every 15/20 minutes. There is a pool and a fitness center as well.
The location can’t be any better for an airport hotel unless you want a hotel actually physically connected to the airport. Shuttle to the airport takes about 15 minutes.
This had been the best airport hotel I have stayed in. If I ever need to stay at Madrid Airport again I will definitely consider staying here again!
