The American Flight That Wouldn’t Take Off – WSJ

What a nightmare. One can hope that if American had known it would take this long to get passengers back home, they would have sent another aircraft. VIDEO: Emergency Landing After Man Smokes Cannabis on AA Flight – Secret Flying

Living in the Emerald Triangle, I often scan cannabis-related stories. Flying with weed is still in an awkward spot. Supposedly it’s legal on an intra-state hop (such as our own Arcata airport to LAX). But given that the TSA is a federal agency, you’re in an awkward position since pot is still illegal at the federal level.

What you *cannot* do is smoke in-flight. Like this dude.

21-YEAR-OLD COLLEGE STUDENT RUNS TEXAS HOTEL ALONE…FOR 32 HOURS – Live and Let’s Fly

This is a heartwarming story. A young front desk worker single-handedly kept a Homewood Suites running to the best of his ability for 32 hours nonstop(!) until help could finally arrive. This is truly going the extra mile.

New Hyatt Caption Brand For Millennials Who Like Tiny Rooms – View from the Wing

I don’t understand the millennial marketing fascination (and yes, born in 1989, I’m solidly in the cohort). Plus, I have to say that I think brands are missing the mark with it anyway (e.g. the hotel desk is something I definitely use). Who really wants a tiny room?
