Aer Lingus are running a competition in conjunction with Avis where five lucky people can win 50,000 Avios apiece. That is a decent addition to any AerClub account, enough points for an economy class award flight from Dublin to Los Angeles and back.

Of course, using Avios for economy class flights is not really advisable. You can get better value using them for business class tickets or flight upgrades. That’s how I use mine anyway!

The Competition

You must have an Aer Lingus AerClub account to enter this competition. These account numbers all start with 3081 and if you don’t have one, you can join the programme here.

There are three questions that need answering. The first asks “How many bonus Avios will AerClub members collect when they book car group C or above for 3 or more days…” – the answer to this is 700.

The second question asks a true or false about whether AerClub members are entitled to a free additional driver on Avis rentals. The answer is True. The final one asks how many bonus Avios will AerClub members get when they join Avis Preferred. The answer here is 1,000.

Anyway, since you now have all the answers, you should go here now to enter the competition. It is all very simple and hopefully you will be a winner of 50,000 Avios. You have until 30 November 2019 to enter.

Overall Thoughts

While it is not advertised very often, Avios can be transferred between frequent flyer programmes. This means if you have both an AerClub and a British Airways Executive Club account, for example, you could win Avios in the competition and move them across. It also works for Iberia Plus.

Availability in the programmes for reward flights are generally similar enough. Where there are differences are the amount of taxes and sometimes the amount required for the flight, as the airlines have different Peak and Off Peak calendars.

Will you be entering this competition? I know I already have! Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please let me know.
