Today is the last day of week 3 of the Daily Getaways by US Travel Association.
Over the next two weeks, travel deals and packages will be available on a first-come first-served each weekday from today April 10, 2016 through May 10, 2017. For a look at previous offers, click here.
Today’s Daily Getaways offer is for Choice Privileges points packages.
Even though at first glance the page on the Daily Getaways deals looks like you’re getting 2 free nights at a particular hotel brand such as Comfort Suites, in the “what you’ll receive” description of each package it says you’re in fact getting Choice Privileges points.
Here are the packages available, and links to purchase –
20,000 Choice Privileges points for $90 (208 packages available) = .45 cents per point
32,000 Choice Privileges points for $132 (310 packages available) = .41 cents per point
36,000 Choice Privileges points for $155 (308 packages available) = .43 cents per point
40,000 Choice Privileges points for $160 (204 packages available) = .40 cents per point
The best deals are the one for 32,000 points and the one at the 40,000 point level, as you are getting the points for .40 and .41 cents per point. Even at .45 cents per point, these points packages are a great deal!
The packages go on sale at 1pm EST today.
To purchase points today, click the individual links above or follow this link to the calendar for the week of April 24, 2017 and select the Choice Privileges package you are interested in.
You can purchase 2 sets of points for each package, with a maximum of 8 sets of points across all Choice Hotels offers. Points will be posted to the account number given at time of purchase within 10 business days.
This a great opportunity to get Choice Privileges points below the regular purchase rate and use them for reward nights that would ordinarily cost a ton more. Especially good redemption options are at the upscale Ascend collection properties, or simply Choice hotels in countries other than the US.
Note that reward night reservations cannot be made more than 30 days prior to hotel arrival, but points don’t expire for 18 months so you can hold on to them for a while if needed.
If you get one of the Choice Privileges points packages today, when redeeming you can get a lot of bang for your buck of you simply find a Choice property to stay at that costs a lot more than your points did when purchasing.
Even if the majority of the Choice properties aren’t super high end, they sure can come in handy if you find yourself in a location where there aren’t a lot of hotels to choose from, have a get-together planned with a lot of family, or just want a family-friendly place that offers good value.
