Glasgow is a lovely city to visit and an added bonus for me was my first visit to the British Airways lounge at Glasgow Airport. The airport itself is a bit of a warren of corridors so I was happy to arrive at the lounge.

The navy blue entrance surround in Glasgow follows the same theme as the lounge in Washington D.C. and at other locations.

Food and Drink

There is a decent array of food and beverages on offer in the lounge to suit a variety of tastes. The items are laid out on refrigerated serving islands to keep items fresh and you can access what you want from either side which prevents queues.

The soup on offer was Potato, Tomato and Smoked Paprika which was quite delicious. Two bowls for me, thank you!

A fine selection of sandwiches are on offer with a total of four choices being available. Today’s selection is Chicken and Sweetcorn, Mozzarella and Pesto Mayonnaise, Beef and Horseradish Mayonnaise, and Salmon and Cucumber. Mayonnaise is clearly popular in Glasgow!

Alcoholic beverages are self-service with the usual selection of drinks being available. There was no Champagne on offer which I find to be standard for the British Airways outstation lounges.

Glasgow Lounge and Snug

The lounge is rectangular in shape with the space divided into different areas. Along the walls the seating is generally two by two with charging points available.

In the centre there is a table set up for business use and then some chairs and tables and a couple of couches. One of these faces the television which was not at a volume that would disturb people which is a very good thing! There are also dining tables for those that wish to eat, located near the food serving areas.

Hidden away is the Glenlivet Bar and Snug. A snug is a feature of British and Irish pubs and is usually a separate small cosy area where you can sit. I was quite surprised to see one in a lounge so I went to have a look.

The “fire” is an interesting touch to remind people of proper snugs which have a fireplace and fire roaring throughout Winter. This is easily the most private part of the lounge in Glasgow.

Overall Thoughts

The British Airways Lounge in Glasgow is a perfectly fine place to spend an hour before a flight. The food options are decent, tasty and generally healthy. Wireless Internet speed was okay and charging points were available. There is nothing I can fault here apart from the fact it was quite busy on the Sunday afternoon I visited. Next time, I plan to hole up in the snug and sip on some Glenlivet Scotch Whiskey! Thanks for reading and if you have any questions or comments, please leave them below.
