Traveling with young children can be a nightmare, but British Airways is working to make the experience less grueling. Starting today, the airline is redesigning seven lounges at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports to include a special “My 1st Years Kids Zones.”
So kids, say goodbye to airport lounge boredom. Ride on tiny airplane tricycles, play in a mini kitchen or play one of the musical instruments while Mom and Dad sit back and relax.
The lounge program is all part of a partnership with British brand My 1st Years. This exclusive partnership extends to the airline’s eStore where customers purchasing My 1st Years can earn Avios points.
Better Customer Service
You’ve probably heard that British Airways is making a £6.5 billion investment to improve customer service. These changes include new aircraft, new cabins, new catering, WiFi, new routes and new lounges. The airline’s New York JFK Terminal 7 will be the next lounge to open under the new design concept, with improvements being made there to the customer experience at check-in. The airline also has further investment planned in Geneva, San Francisco, Johannesburg, Chicago and its lounges at Heathrow.
Free Kids Backpacks Celebrate 100 Years
British Airways is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Kids traveling through London Heathrow can join in the celebration. On selected dates in July and August, the airline is giving young flyers a limited edition My 1st Years centenary backpack with a bespoke British Airways design. The backpack will be available on My 1st Years website, too.
