Tis the season to give and get holiday cards. Even businesses get into the act, and when it comes to large companies with millions of members the cards are usually electronic and sometimes videos.

Click here to watch the one from American Airlines, which included a gentle reminder that a very important part of the holidays is spending less time on electronic devices and more time interacting with loved ones.

The one I got from Hyatt Gold Passport this morning was especially heartwarming. The video itself was pretty, showing snow softly falling on different cities around the world. After the video ended though, there was the holiday greeting. Along with well-wishes for the season, it said that Hyatt was making a donation on my behalf to Youth Career Initiative which helps disadvantaged youth explore their career choices –

Just about all big companies make contributions to charities but I really like how Hyatt has made giving back the focus of their message this year and made me feel like I was a part of it. Pretty cool, and I don’t think I’ve seen another company do quite the same.

To enter Magic of Miles’ contest today for a USPS box stuffed with travel-related goodies, leave a message on this post about Christmas cards. I’m curious who still sends out paper cards vs electronic, and have you given to a charity in someone’s name before? What do you think of Hyatt’s giving back holiday card?

The contest ends at 9pm PST tonight, and for full contest rules click here.
