THE WIZARD OF OZ™ Public Service Announcements for Child Passenger Safety
These PSAs will focus on encouraging communities to engage in child passenger safety during Child Passenger Safety Week (Sept 15-21), National Seat Check Saturday (Sept 21), and year around.

TheRightSeat
Car crashes are the number one killer of children 1 to 12 years old in the United States. The best way to protect them in the car is to put them in the right seat, at the right time, and use it the right way.

  • There are so many car seat types and models, how do you know which one is right for your child?  The right car seat or booster fits your child and your car, and is one you will use correctly every time you travel. Not only will your child ride as safely as possible, you will be establishing the foundation for a lifelong habit of seat belt use every time your child travels.
  • Is your child in the right car seat? Let us help you make better-informed choices when choosing and using a car seat.

TheRightSeat is “your gateway to that information, including how-to videos on car seat use and installation, NHTSA’s car seat recommendations for your child’s age and size, and where to find local help.”

The Takeaway
Don’t be like the Scarecrow… have a brain and help get children into the proper safety seat, whether it’s for a trip down the block or across the country!

BONUS FACT:
Reportedly the most pristine of the four pairs of ruby slippers known to exist from the movie (the “Witch’s slippers” pair) are currently owned by the Museum at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after they were acquired in 2012 for an undisclosed amount thanks to contributions on behalf of the Academy by Leonardo DiCaprio, Steven Spielberg, and Terry Semel (former Yahoo! CEO who made his career at Warner Bros.), among others.
