Has my home city finally arrived? I think DC arrived a while ago, but the news that DC is getting its first Trump Hotel must surely say something. I couldn’t help myself, so I did a little quick perusing around Trump’s website to check things out. While I’ve never stayed at a Trump Hotel, the website described some very unique 5 star properties, the likes of which I look forward to seeing here in DC.
The Trump Organization will invest $200 million to redevelop DC’s Old Post Office building located at 12th and Pennsylvania NW. Trump plans a 250 room property complete with restaurants, spa, and meeting facilities. Construction is expected to begin in 2014 with occupancy in 2016. I can’t wait to see it! This is the most exciting hotel development in DC since the W arrived at the old Hotel Washington.
