Wait…. what the heck did he just say?!?!?! OK….let me explain. I love me some first class. It’s just that for this trip, I’m accompanied by MrsMJonTravel. Next week, I’m taking a long planned and routine business trip to Atlanta. MrsMJonTravel and I decided to go down for the weekend at our expense, so I changed my flight to Saturday, and then booked her ticket separately. I was able to request a companion upgrade for her, but unlike my other primary airlines, AA and US, companions do not clear with the elite passenger at Delta, they clear after all other elites have been upgraded. Delta’s domestic upgrade policy for elite Medallions is pretty generous overall, but this is one area where it can get a little tricky.

I had hoped that flying on a Saturday afternoon would mean that few elites would be flying, but a look at the seat map seems to indicate that a lot of premium seats reserved for elites are taken, which likely means there are a lot of people ahead of MrsMJonTravel in the upgrade queue. And what does that mean? It means that I’ll likely be sitting in 27E. Figure it out. đŸ˜€
