If you’ve tried to trade with Southwest Airlines this week, you may have noticed some issues.
I can speak first hand to the issue which I first picked up on Wednesday evening attempting to check in for a flight 24 hours later. Not only was there a website issue, but the iPhone app wasn’t working either. I did finally succeed in checking in about 30 minutes after first trying. Thankfully, I saved my boarding pass to Passbook on my iPhone because there was more than one customer boarding last night who was having difficulty calling up their boarding passes.
The culprit behind all of this appears to be unprecedented demand following the announcement of a fare sale that was supposed to end yesterday. Southwest has extended the sale through today for those of you who may have experienced problems purchasing tickets. Click here for details.
