Flying out of Auckland in business class and hungry? You are quite likely to use the Qantas Club in Auckland, which serves Qantas, LATAM, Qatar Airways and probably one or two more besides.

While the lounge design is average to good, the food is pretty decent. It features a nice variety of items and all of them are very tasty so let’s have a look.

Satisfaction for Hungry People

On my visit the soup caught my eye, partly because I had no idea what it was. Kumara? What the hell is that? I didn’t know so a bowl of soup for me.

Turns out Kumara is another way of saying sweet potato. They’re cheeky in Auckland! Next I chose a piece of spinach and cheese quiche as it looked divine. The taste? Superb! Really happy I had a piece.

But Wait, There’s More!

A whole selection of food is available from the healthy to the less healthy. What I really like is that intelligent thought has gone into making the food appealing to the eye. It is arranged really nicely on the plates for one.

Next, when you look at something like the wraps or the little slider type filled rolls, attention to eye appeal is also evident. The little desserts look pretty too in the featured image at the top.

The hot lunch offering is a beef stew of some kind and rice. I didn’t try it as I knew I was going to be eating on the flight after my visit and I wasn’t all that hungry.

Overall Thoughts

When I visited the Qantas First Class lounge in Auckland, I noted that the food was surprisingly good. It is really pleasing to see that the quality of the food is maintained in the business class facility as well.
