American Airlines has a new Targeted Elite Status Promo
American Airlines recently released a fantastic promo allowing targeted AAdvantage members to earn elite status at a discounted price. The required amount of Elite Qualifying Miles and Elite Qualifying Dollars is greatly reduced with this offer. However, this promo is a targeted offer only available to those AAdvantage members who received an invitation.
Here are the details:
Required Elite Qualifying Miles Reduced
Without this promo, you must earn 25,000 elite qualifying miles (EQMs) on American to earn entry level Gold status. To earn Executive Platinum status on American you must earn at least 100,000 EQMs. However, this promo allows you to earn status with a reduced level of EQMs needed. With the promo earn just 7,000 EQMs and get Gold status or just 35,000 EQMs and earn Executive Platinum status.
Required Elite Qualifying Dollars Reduced
Many savvy flyers will probably have trouble earning elite qualifying dollars (EQDs) versus EQMs so this promo might be a lifesaver. This promo allows eligible AAdvantage members to spend just $1,000 EQDs for Gold status and just $4,000 for Executive Platinum status. Gold status normally requires $3,000 EQDs and Executive Platinum status requires a whopping $12,000 EQDs.

The Nitty Gritty
I’m going to save some time here and only cover the most important details of this promo. First off, make sure to register by March 8th, 2017. After March 8th, you can no longer sign up for this promotion. Second, only flights between the date you register and May 26th, 2017 will go towards this promo. Also, elite status earned with this promo is good until January 31st, 2018. Of course, the biggest and most restrictive detail is that this is by invitation only. You must have a promo code you received from American Airlines.

This is an amazing promo. This promo lets you earn American’s Executive Platinum status for only $4,000! Unfortunately, it’s a targeted offer so not everyone is eligible. However, if you’re one of the lucky ones that received this offer, you’re elite status requirements with American have become more easily achievable. Make sure to check your email (your spam especially!) and be on the look out for snail mail from American!
