I received an email from Delta yesterday with an interesting offer…and frankly, an offer that I’ve often wondered why other airlines haven’t tried.  Basically, you can join the Sky Club and pay for it monthly rather than a big fee paid upfront.  To celebrate the launch of this new option, Delta is offering a deal.  Pay $19.99 per month for the first 3 months and a $19.99 annual fee.  After that, your monthly payment rises to $39.99 for a general member.  If you’re Medallion, you get a discount.

I already have access to Sky Clubs via my Amex Platinum card.  But this is a viable option for others who may be thinking about joining the club and just can’t quite get past the annual fee which ranges from $300 to $450 dollars depending on Medallion level.  Certainly worth thinking about, and the option to pay monthly can make the annual fee a little easier to stomach.

Details on pricing below: (Note: Diamond Medallions receive complimentary Sky Club membership.  However, Diamonds that will be losing their status in the new year can join the Sky Club and take advantage of discounted plan pricing.)  Sign up at delta.com/clubpaymentplan.
