Corsair International is a leisure airline based in France. It operates flights to the Indian Ocean and the West Indies. For a very long time, the airline has offered a premium economy product called Grand Large Class. The airline has taken their premium cabin game a bit further. Corsair introduces business class on their long haul fleet. One Mile at a Time reports that the airline will begin adding their new business class product on their 747s.

What to Expect
Corsair will be installing angled flat seats on the upper deck of their 747s. They will have 12 seats in a 2X2 configuration. The seats will be very similar to what Air France currently offers on some of their 777s, A330s and their A380s. Corsair will also add a amenity kits to their business class customers. The airline plans to roll out the new cabin by the end of September 2017, so we can expect to see them flying very soon.

Will it be any good?
I honestly don’t know what to expect from the product. One of my friends flew Corsair from Montreal to Paris a few years back, and called the experience “underwhelming”. I haven’t personally flown Corsair, nor are their routes convenient for me. This means that I will probably not have a chance to experience the cabin, but I do believe that the business class addition is progress. The airline will be able to compete further with Air France out of Paris Orly and with Air Caraibes. The seats are the same as found in Air France, but the key playing field will be the cabin service.

Landing Thoughts
Like I mentioned, I believe the airline is taking a step in the right direction. Their product will allow them to a threat to Air Caraibes’ A330s. The airline will find itself fighting a different battle when Air Caraibes receives their A350s with lie flat seats. I expect the airline to continue to invest in the premium product if they find this venture to be successful, hopefully adding fully flat seats to their A330s.
