Carnival Corporation announced this morning that it has ordered two new vessels from Fincantieri S.p.A. One ship is headed to Carnival, and will be the line’s 26th ship. The other is for Carnival’s Holland America subsidiary.

Carnival’s as-yet-unnamed 3,954-passenger vessel will offer many of the newest and most popular features from Carnival’s current ships, along with several innovations that will be exclusive to this vessel. The delivery date for the new cruise ship is scheduled for March 2018. Homeport and itinerary information will be announced at a later date. She will be a sister ship to the new Carnival Vista, which is scheduled to enter service in 2016. According to Carnival, the company will announce the new features and innovations coming with Carnival Vista in an even in New York City January 22-24, 2016.

The order for Holland America Line will add a second ship to its Pinnacle Class fleet. The first Pinnacle Class ship, MS Koningsdam will set sail in February 2016. According to Carnival, “the new ship, scheduled for delivery in late November 2018, will accommodate 2,650 guests. The new as-yet-unnamed ship will feature new public spaces and venues that will debut on Koningsdam. In addition, many of the familiar spaces that are currently featured across the Holland America Line fleet will be included.”
