Star Alliance carriers Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines announced that they will begin selling tickets for their codeshare flights on Sept. 25.
Their alliance will officially launch on Jan. 6, 2015, Air New Zealand’s press release says.
Their goal is to ultimately increase today’s capacity between New Zealand and Singapore by up to 30%.
“Our alliance with Singapore Airlines going on sale is an exciting milestone in our growth strategy,” Air New Zealand CEO Christopher Luxon says in the statement. Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong says the alliance underscores the carrier’s commitment to the Southwest Pacific market.
