I just completed a 1-night stay at the Marriott LAX, a quintessential airport hotel. I was there a whopping 10 hours so this is going to be a bit of  a mini-review. I checked in around 9PM and out at 6:45am the next morning, so there’s not a lot I can say. It was plenty acceptable, had a nice fitness center, and the Champions Sports Bar fit the bill for an after arrival snack.

The room was compact, but surely functional. If I had a complaint, it would be the lack of power outlets near the desk. Word to all hotels: you need plenty of power outlets near the work area. In their defense, they did have extra outlets behind the TV cabinet, but that was not the ideal solution. Perhaps it was the best they could do with the older building. The bathroom was on the smallish side too, but how much does one guy need? It fit the bill. I snapped a few pictures for good measure.

All in all, the hotel was fine for a short airport stay. Great even, in that it had restaurants, a fitness center, comfortable bed, and frequent shuttle service to the airport terminal. I’d certainly consider staying here again for a night before an early flight, but my favorite Marriott property near LAX remains the Renaissance LAX.
