I have noted from time to time on this blog that my primary objection to flying Southwest Airlines is their lack of participation in TSA’s PreCheck program. It looks like there may be some good news on that front as the Chicago Business Journal is reporting that Southwest expects to begin offering PreCheck next month. According to the article “…the carrier expects to make available to its passengers by mid-November the United States Transportation Security Administration’s security pre-check service at airports throughout the airline’s extensive domestic route system.”

This is good news for Southwest travelers, and assuming they successfully introduce PreCheck, will make it a lot less likely that I actively avoid the airline. As I’ve noted before, they are often quite good at what they do, and I don’t mind Southwest’s unique brand of service at all in certain circumstances.

Flying Southwest soon? Don’t forget to register for their double Rapid Rewards points promotion.
