As you know, I just returned from a (far too) short cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Monarch of the Seas. This was my 3rd cruise aboard RCL’s soon retiring (in March 2013) oldest ship. She may be an older ship, but what Monarch lacks in whiz-bang awesomeness of ships like Allure of the Seas, she makes up for in friendly and caring service from top to bottom. I’m not preparing a full review like I normally do after a cruise. I’ve reviewed Monarch before, and this trip really was about disconnecting. Seriously, I barely snapped a picture. For the first time in …well….ever, I didn’t even use all the internet minutes allotted to Diamond Plus Crown & Anchor members. This was a bit of a last-minute thing. MrsMJonTravel was already in Orlando for Zumba Instructor convention. The timing of some work-related events changed. The planets aligned. I didn’t even call our travel agent that we like to use. I went online and booked the cruise, and flights in about 5 minutes a few Saturday evenings ago. And it was done.
I did a lot of this over the last few days. (My eyes are closed… I may even be snoring)
And some of this.
And a little of that.
And along the way, I got to see some sights like this. (Not bad for an iPhone 4S I thought)
So there you have it. This was about relaxing, and unwinding….and disconnecting….and making it around the not so Lazy River at Atlantis about 7 times. I may have even been seen in the spa. My work BlackBerry was locked in my desk drawer…. It was only 4 nights for crying out loud. 🙂 Monarch of the Seas gets an A Plus for this cruise!! It really was a great time…. good food, wonderful service, a good time to be remembered when reality sets in.
