Qantas Airlines

Australia’s Qantas Airlines is a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards. The ratio for transfers is 1:1. You can transfer Amex points to Qantas in increments of 500 points. Qantas points are extremely useful as Qantas is part of the OneWorld Alliance. After logging into my Amex account, I saw this transfer bonus after looking at the transfer partners on my American Express Gold Card. The card currently has a 40,000 Membership Rewards bonus as well as the limited-edition Rose Gold version available via referral.

Amex-Qantas Transfer Bonus

Every now and then, American Express Membership Rewards offers increased transfer ratios for some of their airline or hotel partners. With the current transfer bonus, you’ll get an extra 20% Qantas points for transferring your Amex points to Qantas. For every 500 Amex points that you transfer, you’ll get 600 Qantas points. This promotional offer ends on June 30th.

The Pundit’s Mantra

Qantas points can be extremely useful for short hops within the US on American Airlines or for short trips within Australia. Since their chart is distance based, there are plenty of sweet spots that you can find on their One World partners if you’re looking to travel places where Qantas doesn’t currently fly. Here’s the link to their award charts.
